This track is titled Lean which is an unreleased record that will not appear on his up coming LP Lasers so in other words he shouldn't be getting mad at this dropping. I know it's Lupe but this wasn't all that nice, I've heard his older shit and he has made better songs than this but you can judge it yourself. Nas traded manager MC Serch for Steve Stoute, and began preparation for his second LP, It Was Written, consciously working towards a crossover-oriented sound. It Was Written, chiefly produced by Tone and Poke of Trackmasters, was released during the summer of 1996. Two singles, "If I Ruled the World (Imagine That)" (featuring Lauryn Hill of The Fugees) and "Street Dreams", including a remix with R. Kelly were instant hits. These songs were promoted by big-budget music videos directed by Hype Williams, making Nas a common name among mainstream hip-hop.

Just to clarify, this song is unreleased, but almost a decade old."Lean" was in fact recorded back in 2001 and was meant to be the first single off his Arista debut. The Buchannans produced it, and to my knowledge there are about 6 tracks recorded from these Lu + Buchanans sessions. It's amazing how well this holds up, though. I will say that. Rapper K. Gates, a New Orleans native, recorded the now famous Saints? fight song, "Black & Gold (Who Dat!!)" last month, when the Saints had only Super Bowl dreams in sight. Wanting to inspire the team and their endlessly supportive fans in a city that?s been through so much, K. Gates created the perfect rally call to help carry the black and gold all the way to the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Taking a sample from the Ying Yang Twins? "Halftime (Stand Up & Get Crunk!)", which has long been played over the loudspeaker after every Saints touchdown, "Black & Gold (Who Dat!!)" features the lyrics, "we yellin black n gold to the Superbowl...we yellin who dat...say they gon beat them Saints".
Gates also just recorded a video for the track, working around the clock to finish the shoot in just one day and have the video edited two days later. Ready last Wednesday, just in time to cheer The Saints to victory, the "Black & Gold" video is already up to over 60,000 views on YouTube. View it below.
